Tebow Turtle Transformed Into Just Turtle

The Tebow turtle statue in Jacksonville is now just a turtle that looks like a football player. The difference: No. 15 was changed to No. 1, to avoid any conflict that Tebow was being commercialized.

There was really no issue:

Upright said she had spoken with the Tebow family before the turtle was painted and got their approval. Since the Turtle Trails project was intended to raise money for the not-for-profit Child Guidance Center, the organizers did not anticipate a problem.

The Turtle Trails group "happily complied." Kenny Mayne had no comment.
